There are many good guitar builders in my country, building guitars became very popular last year :)

Re: Falling In Love

You are far too kind! I keep it on my iPhone...just in case.

the film is brilliant because you get three guys in various stages of their careers (Legend, Rock God, and Rising God-to-Be) and none of them have anything to prove because, well, no one in that crowd has to prove squat. it's an amazing flick. only wish I'd caught it on the big screen.

Re: listening and me

On the subject of guitars, have you seen It Might Get Loud? Part documentary, part biography of Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White. I recommend and also wonder what a guitar maker and player thinks of the movie.

Re: The Recording Devil

I think we're going to get a lot of mileage out of that session. I have a
race against time going on right now with the weather and my guitar
building. I pretty much have to be ready to apply the finish by this
weekend so my studio time is now shop time. But after this week, I am going
to go back over the material and see what we can do with it. I have some
really cool (I think) ideas for arrangements. I also know that Jason is
working on some things with what we did. This is good. Really, really
good.

Re: The Recording Devil

You're right of course. I go through phases when listening to things I've recorded, it usually begins with, wow I suck. Then the second time through, I think, wait now, that's actually kinda cool, there are only minor errors. Then there is waffling back and forth. When I am tired I think pretty much everything I do sucks the big one.
I must also say that I have made music with others before (mind you a long time ago) and I have felt the most comfortable with you ever. You have just the right balance of honest criticism and telling me I'm great so I don't get dissuaded. It was so cool that Jason also was just the easiest guy to sing with, and I know that we all felt that feeling in the room, the feeling you feel when the music is just sweet and right. I also greatly look forward to the future work that comes from this, because I really loved some of the sounds that we got.

Re: delight

I'm so glad that someone is finally appreciating the fact that I take prose to the next level.

Re: delight

There are just so many things that are awesome about this paragraph:

"I’m not one to wax poetic over instruments (often) but my wife caught me saying things that would have gotten me slapped had I said them to another woman. I really loved writing song cycles and chamber pieces that are really just the traditional western music version of EPs...or wait...EPs are the modern equivalent of...um...yeah. Anyway, the point is that I really want to do something in a larger form but an album is hard to pull of while an EP can really work wonders. Stay tuned, yo!

Re: starting something new

I love the idea of EPs. I am one of those dying few who love the full album instead of individual songs, but I can tell from my listenings of all sorts of albums, it is tough to do well. The EP allows you the freedom to explore and try new things in a smaller setting, a fantastic idea!
